How to join "Asterix et Extraterrestres"

This is a short introduction to register yourself as a SETI@home user and to join Team "Asterix et Extraterrestres". You will find further information in the readme files provided with the software or in the Frequently Asked Questions about SETI@home.
Software
Get the SETI@home software from the SETI@home download area. Clients for several operating systems and computer architectures are available.
Install the program and start it. When the program runs for the first time, you will be asked, if you are First-Time User or Returning User. If you are new to SETI@home, then select "First-Time User" and continue. You will be requested for further information:
- Name or Nickname
- Email Address: It is very important that you enter a valid email address here. Don't worry, they do not sell email addresses or distribute them. They will email you a password that you will need if you ever want to make changes to your account. If you enter an invalid address, you will never get the password. Besides, if you don't have the password, you won't be able to join "Asterix et Extraterrestres"
- Country: Select your country in the dropdown list
- Zip or Postal Code: Enter your Zip or Postal Code here
- Where is your computer located? Choose from School, Work or Home
You can change your user account info in the User Account Area. You can also look up your personal statistic and your overall rank.
Join "Asterix et Extraterrestres"
Once you have the program set up and running on your computer, head on over to our "Asterix et Extraterrestres" page on the SETI@home site and click on "Join". Fill in the form and submit it to join the team. If you havn't a password yet, use the "click here" link to get a new password.
